Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PlayBrainly ("we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PlayBrainly mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the game and its leaderboards:
- Anonymous account identifier. When you first open the App, we create an anonymous account through Google Firebase Authentication. This is a random identifier — it is not linked to your email, phone, or any personal identity.
- Display name. A nickname you choose (default "Player"). It appears on public leaderboards and, if you join one, within your team. Please do not enter real personal information as your display name.
- Gameplay data. Your progress and stats — level, XP, in-game coins and gems, scores, streaks, achievements, avatar selection, friend code, completed lessons, and your Brain Score across the four cognitive domains.
- Team & organization data. If you join or create a team/organization, your display name and weekly activity are shared with that group so it can show internal progress and engagement summaries.
We do not collect your email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers for tracking.
2. How we use your information
- To save and sync your progress across sessions and devices.
- To power global, friends, and team leaderboards and real-time duels.
- To calculate your Brain Score and long-term progress trends.
- To operate weekly league standings and team/organization engagement reports.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. Where your data is stored
Your profile and gameplay data are stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider; see the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Sharing your information
We only share information in these limited ways:
- Publicly within the App: your display name, avatar, level and score appear on leaderboards and to opponents in duels.
- With your team/organization: if you join one, your display name and activity are visible to that group's members and administrators.
- Service providers: Google Firebase, as described above.
- Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the App and its users.
5. Deleting your account and data
You are in control of your data. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, open the App and go to Profile → Account → Delete account. This immediately removes your profile, progress, matchmaking entry, and team membership from our systems and cannot be undone.
If you need help, contact us at alviziandre@gmail.com.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the associated data is removed. Aggregated, anonymized statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.
7. Children's privacy
PlayBrainly is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because sign-in is anonymous and no personal contact information is requested, the App collects no directly identifying data. If you believe a child has provided personal information (for example, in a display name), contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or Brazil's LGPD), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise deletion directly in the App, or contact us for any other request at alviziandre@gmail.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
